JET SKIS BAD!

Metallica’s James Hetfield Recovers Enough From Jet Ski Accident To Rejoin Band On Tour
After missing three of his band's Summer Sanitarium shows due to a back injury, Metallica guitarist James Hetfield returned to the stage Wednesday night (7/12) at Denver's Mile High Stadium, MTV.com reports.

According to the band's management, Hetfield was suffering from herniated and bulging discs in his back following a jet-ski accident on a lake outside of Atlanta. But unnamed sources close to the band said that the real cause of Hetfield's back problems could be blamed on Napster. "James has been shouldering the intellectual property load for so long," said the source, "that it's taken its toll."

While Hetfield wasn't as quick or mobile in his return, he did not require the use of any of the stools that were placed onstage in the event he needed to sit down. Hetfield will finish out the balance of the tour—shows in San Francisco, Los Angeles and Queen Creek, AZ—accompanied by a physical therapist.

During Hetfield's absence, other members of the Summer Sanitarium roster stepped behind the mic. Members of Korn, Powerman 5000 and System Of A Down helped create an exciting mix of karaoke and metal that certainly all in attendance felt was worth their $75 a ticket.
