CDNow, Musicmaker.com, EMI Recorded Music and Pizza Hut received honorary Gold records from the RIAA. The awards were the result of the companies' joint promotion which resulted in 800,000 custom CD redemptions. The promotion was supported by a $15 million advertising campaign.
