PEARLS BEFORE FANS, BLINK BROKE, BRITNEY ACTS UP

Every Press Release Tells A Story
Pearl Jam has a massive plan to help fans who trade tapes of past performances. The band's official site,
www.tenclub.net, said that each concert from the band's current 28-city European tour will be released
as a double-live “official bootleg” CD. The recordings will be mixed by Brett Eliason and will be available at the end of July through the band's Web sites. It's not known if Pearl Jam will continue the bootleg series for their North American tour dates, which begin Aug. 3. No word whether the RIAA will suethe band for pirating their own material or Ticketmaster will sue them for allowing the tapes to get out… Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker is out for the duration of the band's current tour, thanks to a couple of thugs in Cuyahoga Falls, OH. Barker was tackled on the street and had his pinky finger broken by one of two guys who had allegedly been harassing Barker's girlfriend. Blink-182 utilized Fenix, TX guitarist Damon Delapaz and the Cleveland-area show at Blossom Music Center went on as scheduled. Delapaz will work double-duty for the remainder of the tour. “It's not so bad, I just look kind of stupid running around naked with just this cast on,” Barker said… Britney Spears has signed with Endeavor for representation in film and television, reports The Hollywood Reporter. The agency will guide the multiplatinum-selling Jive Records sensation's career as she expands into acting. Spears, who got her start on Disney's "The Mickey Mouse Club," has never done a feature film. “Doing SNL was a hoot. But now I'm looking for more serious roles,” she said. Rumors that Spears is up for the lead in an upcoming Merchant-Ivory production could not be confirmed.
