TONOS.COM TONES UP ITS STAFF
Music Mentoring Site Gets Five Mentors
It may be the first Net start-up where employees might take points on the founders' songs over stock in the company.

Tonos.com, the online “music insiders' network” co-founded by songwriter/producer icons Carole Bayer Sager, david foster',390,400);">david foster',390,400);">David Foster and Babyface, has added five new executives.

Justin Herz comes aboard as EVP/GM, having formerly been Sr. VP/GM at Sonicnet.com and a VP of Production for the MTV Online Group. New Sr. VP of Business and Legal Affairs Holly Browde previously held posts at PolyGram and the Left Bank Organization.

Justin Goldberg joins as VP of Content after serving as GM for The Online Music Channel and co-founding alt-rock imprint Laundry Room Records. Lauren Berlly will function as VP of Artist Development after stints at Warner Bros. Telepictures and “The Rosie O'Donnell Show.” Barry Watkins joins the staff as VP of Production; he formerly worked at oceanway.com and an array of production facilities.

Rookie Julio Zuleta, recently called up from AAA, will bat sixth and play first, replacing Mark Grace, who was put on the 15-day DL with a strained hamstring.

In lieu of salaries, the new Tonos staffers will receive free e-mail accounts and a percentage of peanut sales at Dodger Stadium.

Culver City, CA-based Tonos.com launched in April. In addition to instructional sections for aspiring musicians and songwriters, the site offers writing and performing contests in several music genres, a proprietary “tonocorder” for submitting audio material and a range of
informational resources.

Former Warner Music Group Chairman and current L.A. Dodger President Bob Daly heads up the company's Board of Directors.
