WHO WANTS TO BE A POP STAR?

Regis, David Foster Team With Jack & Jemma For First Single From Upcoming Album Based on TV Show
Move over, Eminem, and you, too, Kathie Lee. Regis Philbin's making a comeback as a pop star.

The host of the ratings-busting TV show, "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?," will be featured on an album based on the hit program, which will be released on Walt Disney Records on August 1. Disney, of course, owns ABC, the network that ais the popular quiz show.

The record will be preceded by the title track single, a david foster',390,400);">david foster',390,400);">David Foster-produced synthpop song performed by Jack & Jemma that incorporates the show's distinctive electronic theme and live Regis sound bytes. The cut will be released by Foster's Atlantic-distributed 143 Records on June 22. The duo consists of renowned remixer Jack D. Elliott (Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears) and partner Jemma Cooper.

The album will also feature such get-rich-quick and show-related anthemsas Blondie's"Call Me," Shirley Bassey's "Goldfinger," Harry Nilsson's "Lifeline," Queen's "Millionaire Waltz," Taco's"Puttin' On The Ritz," Hot Chocolate's "Everyone's A Winner," T-Bone Burnett's "Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend" and Regis' own version of "Pennies From Heaven," from his 1964 release, "It's Time For Regis."

Is this his final answer? We sure hope so.
