And now the man behind the company's aggressive Internet strategy has been named Chief Marketing Officer and President of New Technology by President/CEO strauss zelnick',390,400);">strauss zelnick',390,400);">Strauss Zelnick, who interrupted his stenciling of L.A. Reid's name on the door at Arista to make the announcement.

Previously Sr. VP Worldwide Marketing and New Technology for the company, Conroy will continue to oversee all corporate marketing and media development for BMG's businesses around the world, including smuggling black market VW bugs into the U.S. He'll have an expanded Worldwide Marketing Group reporting to him, including Priority Artist Marketing, Partnership Marketing, Catalogue Marketing, Music Programming, Online Marketing, New Technology, Digital Music Distribution and answering Christina Aguilera's e-mail.

Said Zelnick: "Kevin's reputation as a marketing visionary is richly deserved. He has developed an innovative and comprehensive approach to marketing BMG's artists and has been responsible for creating our leadership position in the Internet. Conroy has created a number of strategic alliances and marketing partnerships with companies like Universal Music Group and AOL. The success of BMG's online strrategy led to the development of sites such as GetMusic, Click2Music and the wildly successful KevinConroynudeintheshower.com. Conroy recently announced BMG's plans for online digital downloading through an open network of retailer partners.
