Kidnapping, Pony Rides, X-Rated Videos, Stomach Surgery, Restraining Orders—That’s Rock And Roll!
Perhaps feeling left out by the legal turmoil his fellow tour mates
Eminem,
Dr. Dre and
Snoop Dogg have found themselves in over the years, rapper
Nate Dogg has decided to join the "club." After performing on the first two dates of the "Up In Smoke" tour, this Dogg was arrested in Pomona, CA, on Saturday for allegedly kidnapping his ex-girlfriend and setting her mother's car on fire. According to the Associated Press, a
SWAT team arrested Nate Dogg, whose real name is
Nathaniel Hale, at the rapper's home. Hale has been accused of holding his former girlfriend, identified only as woman named
Rhoda, at her home in Lakewood, CA, against her will, assaulting her, tearing down her bead curtain, stealing her scarf, bothering her downstairs neighbor "Mary" and then torching her mother's vehicle, which was believed to be parked on the premises. Hale was charged and booked for making terrorist threats, arson and domestic violence. The rapper, who had performed the night before at
Arrowhead Pond in Anaheim, was released from a Los Angeles County Jail after posting
$1 million bail. "With rappers getting arrested every day, it's getting harder and harder to stand out," explained a source close to Dogg, "Nate really felt he had to ‘kick it up a notch.'"… On July 3,
TCM and
Capitol Records will simulcast "The Wizard of Oz" with
Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon." Legend has it that there are many
uncanny coincidences between the film and the music that it must have been done intentionally, a notion that the band has repeatedly denied. The alternate soundtrack will be accessible on the SAP channel, available to
DIRECTV customers and viewers in markets with cable operators who feature DVS. "If you think that's weird," Floyd's
Roger Waters said. "You oughta try listening to the
Starland Vocal Band while watching ‘Scarface.' Talk about a trip!"… Radio host
Don Imus was hospitalized Sunday after being thrown from a horse at his ranch in New Mexico. The popular shock jock is recovering after suffering a collapsed lung, five broken ribs, a broken collarbone and a separated shoulder after being thrown up to 10 feet off his horse. Rumors that rival
Howard Stern fed the horse amphetamines could not be confirmed but he did offer words of condolence. "With any luck he'll be dead soon," Stern told his
K-Rock listeners. "It would be funny if he ended up like
Christopher Reeve in a wheelchair." (
That's really what he said, not a joke of questionable taste on our part. Not that we're above that necessarily. –Ed.)…
Master P's
No Limit plans to release the video to the
504 Boyz hit "Wobble, Wobble" in its X-rated form. The new X-rated video can be seen exclusively at
WestSideTV.com. Master P said, "This song makes listeners want to do the nasty. So, we decided to show ‘em how it's done."…
Motley Crue has confirmed that
Randy Castillo will not appear with the band on the early dates of its summer tour due to his recent stomach surgery. The band has tapped
Hole's
Samantha Maloney to start the tour on June 24 in Sacramento, CA. "With the tour starting in one week we didn't want to cancel shows on fans. We had previously met Samantha and knew she was dynamic and could add a real
edge to the live show," said Crue bassist
Nikki Sixx. "Not to mention she's a chick. So, when she moons the audience during ‘Home Sweet Home' it should light shit up"… Former
Ozzy Osbourne bass player
Phil Soussan has joined original band members bassist
Bob Daisley and drummer
Lee Kerslake in suing the rocker for back royalties. Soussan, who performed on "Ultimate Sin" and wrote the single "Shot in the Dark" is allegedly owed back royalties and hasn't been credited for his work. A spokesman said the damages between all cases are estimated to be $20 million. "Where were these guys when I was biting bats' heads and snorting ants to promote the band?" Ozzy asked. "They'll get nothing… as long as my wife says so."… A woman who violated a 1997 court order to stay away from
Axl Rose has been sentenced to jail. Superior Court Judge
Lawrence Mira sentenced
Karen McNeil, a 39-year-old Ohio resident, to a year in jail on Monday for violating probation. "While he is a recluse, Rose still prefers to find his own women," a spokesman said.
