Megabarrister To Head Online Start-Up Digital Brandcasting Corp.
Entertainment attorney Ken Hertz is expected to be named CEO of Digital Brandcasting Corp., an online venture designed to offer artists comprehensive, cross-platform digital marketing services.

DBC links artists with marketers and technology companies, enabling artists to create, own, control and monetize their own content and audiences. The company, which says it "gives artists the opportunity to take control of their own brand in the digital world," already boasts Will Smith, Alanis Morissette, Boyz II Men, Live, Montell Jordan, Trisha Yearwood and Savage Garden. The company is actively in negotiations with several other major artists.

The company was started by Hertz and law partner Fred Goldring, Digital Evolution's Eric Pulier, AG Worldwide's Peter Arnell and investment bank Allen & Co.

In addition to his new post, Hertz will remain counsel to the law firm of Hertz and Goldring.

Commented Hertz, "I'm proud and excited to begin this new chapter in the evolution of online marketing. Hey, look—someone sent me an e-mail that says ‘I love you.'"
