Rapper Fined, Sentenced To 15-Day Jail Term Following Missed Court Date
Hip-hop superstar DMX will spend the next 15 days in jail after turning himself in to Cheektowaga, N.Y. police on Wednesday (May 3), where a warrant for his arrest had been issued when he missed a scheduled court date in March.
According a spokesperson for the Cheektowaga Justice Court, DMX pled guilty to charges of driving with a suspended license and was sentenced to 15 days in prison with no bail.
In addition to the jail time, DMX was fined $100 for possession of marijuana, $200 for not having a driver's license, $50 for two parking tag violations and a $30 surcharge.
The rapper was in a holding cell awaiting transportation to the Erie County Correctional Facility in Alden, N.Y., where he will serve out the remainder of his sentence. DMX was originally arrested on March 3 following the Cash Money/Ruff Ryders concert in nearby Buffalo, N.Y.
