MAVERICK’S RIGHT, SAID FRED

Sales/Marketing Head Croshal Rises to GM at Label
He's just another one of Madonna's Material Guys.

Veteran industry gunslinger Fred Croshal has been named General Manager of Maverick Recording Company, where he'll oversee the label's day-to-day operations of Sales, Promotion, Marketing, New Media, Media Relations, Artist Development and keeping the office water cooler filled. He steps into the slot vacated by Russ Rieger, who was named Senior Executive at the company last month.

Croshal has been Maverick's Head of Sales and Marketing since 1998, having joined the label in '96 as Head of Sales. He has been involved in successful campaigns for the likes of Prodigy, The Deftones, Alanis Morissette and Cleopatra, as well as soundtracks for "The Wedding Singer," "The Matrix" and "Austin Powers."

Said Maverick Co-Partner Guy Oseary: "Fred's exceptional relationships with Maverick's artists and managers have all proven to be extremely valuable to the growth of our company. His enthusiasm and high level of energy inspires everyone at Maverick. And he looks great in a bustier."

Croshal was previously VP Sales at the WORK Group. Before that, he spent more than eleven years at CBS Records/Sony Music Distribution beginning in 1984, where he was an account service rep, then a sales rep at the company's S.F. branch.

Added Maverick President Bill Bennett: "Since I have been at Maverick, Fred has been our ‘go to' guy. His enthusiasm and professionalism are critical to our future growth. At least that's what he tells me."

Concluded Croshal: "I'm fortunate to be working with all of the talented and energetic executives who make up our day-to-day team, and most of all, our incredible roster of artists that is growing in diversity each day. Now, when do I get to meet Madonna?"
