BERMAN TO PARAMOUNT

Former Sony Exec Becomes President Of Paramount’s Music Division
As expected, former Sony Pictures Executive VP of Music Burt Berman has been named President of Paramount Pictures' music division, effective Monday (6/26). Berman will report to Paramount Motion Pictures President John Goldwyn.

His exit from Sony and his appointment at Paramount had not been a secret, if you ask HITS' soundtrack guy Jeff Rabhan.

During his six years at Sony, Berman managed all music concerns on more than 25 films each year, including supervising, coordinating and mediating feature films and music initiatives and activities. He has overseen the music and soundtracks for such films as " Jerry Maguire," "Men In Black," "My Best Friend's Wedding," "Air Force One," "As Good As It Gets," "Godzilla" and "Little Women."

Berman replaces Paramount's former Senior VP music Harlan Goodman, who left the studio in May after almost 10 years of service (hitsdailydouble, 5/1).
