WAITING FOR GODOT

The Official Announcement Regarding
Clive Davis’ New Label Is Coming!
After next week, all our waiting will be over.

Former Arista head clive davis',390,400);">clive davis',390,400);">Clive Davis is expected to announce the particulars of his new label deal with BMG next week, according to Reuters. Naturally, a spokeswoman for Davis declined comment. Otherwise, there might actually be something to report.

But we've had the skinny on this from the get-go, as frequent visitors to this site certainly know. What you may not know, however, is that we clear all our info through our Magic 8-Ball.

Rumblings of Davis' new venture began waaaaaaay back in November, when BMG President and CEO strauss zelnick',390,400);">strauss zelnick',390,400);">Strauss Zelnick let it be known that he planned to elevate L.A. Reid to Arista's top spot. First, the speculation pertained to whether Davis would leave the label he founded. After that, the speculation focused on where Davis might begin his post-Arista career. Then, it was all about who Davis would take with him.

Naturally, a spokesman for BMG was unavailable for comment.

Davis, who is credited with boosting the careers of Janis Joplin, Bruce Springsteen, Whitney Houston and Carlos Santana (as well as the invention of the cotton gin, the internal combustion engine and tri-colored toothpaste), left Arista June 30.

Speculation about Davis' new label—including what it might be called and the potential roster—has been swirling for the better part of the year.

Now, finally, all our questions will be answered. Not right now, of course, but next week. Yeah, next week, all will be revealed.

The messenger will arrive with the news next week.
