Stevie Wonder and the late Marvin Gaye head the list of honorees at this year's Rhythm & Blues Foundation Awards, which will take place Sept. 6 in New York City. The event, in its 11th year, has been moved from February to September to coincide with Sept. 7's MTV Video Music Awards. Durst teams up with Staind on Public Enemy's "Bring The Noise," while Rock's selection has yet to be determined. Dynamite Hack's hit cover of Eazy-E's "Boyz-N-The-Hood" is also included, as is Sevendust doing LL Cool J's "Going Back To Cali" and the Kottonmouth Kings' version of the Geto Boys' "My Mind's Playing Tricks On Me." No word whether Ted Nugent's blistering take of N.W.A.'s "Niggaz 4 Life" will be included… Former Mercury Records Group executive Jason Linn has been named senior VP of music development for New Line Cinema. In this position, Linn will be charged with seeking new musical artists for inclusion in New Line films and soundtracks and will also seek to expand New Line's presence in the music world. Prior to joining New Line, Linn served as the head of the alternative marketing and video department for the Mercury Records Group in New York. He reports to Toby Emmerich, president of New Line Music. "I'm so happy to now join a film company, especially since the Mercury Records Group no longer exists," Linn said.
