Tony Bennett & Lady Gaga Prevail, Chesney follows Close Behind, Babs Scores Strong Second Week

Tony Bennett & Lady Gaga’s standards set, Cheek to Cheek (Columbia/Interscope), takes the #1 spot on the HITS Album Sales Chart with 131k.

Blue Chair/Columbia Nashville’s Kenny Chesney put up one hell of a fight, though, landing the #2 spot with just over 129k for The Big Revival. Right on his heels is last week's chart-topper, Columbia's Barbra Streisand, down 35% (#3) in her second week.

English alt-rockers alt-J hit #4, scoring 65k for their sophomore full-length.

Virtuoso blues guitarist Joe Bonamassa’s 11th studio album debuted at #8, raking in 27k via J&R Records.

Speaking of debuts, hipsters around the world are throwing on their finest black turtlenecks to rejoice in the debut of Leonard Cohen’s Popular Problems (Columbia), which snagged 23.87k at #12. Meanwhile, RCA’s Jennifer Hudson hit #13 with 22k.

RCA’s Chris Brown slid to #6 with 36k (-75%) in his second week, and 222/Interscope’s Maroon 5 can now be found at #9 with 25k (-34%). Meanwhile, Big Machine’s Tim McGraw rounded out the Top 10 with 23k (-68%)

Powered by $5.99 and $7.99 sales at iTunes, Hollywood’s Guardians of the Galaxy ST (#7, 30k, +34%) and Disney’s Frozen ST (#11, 22.88k, -10%) continue to hold their own in the Top 15.
