Oh, hey there, buddy! Long time no chat. You wanna take a peek into our visions of radio future? We know you do. No hallucinogens are required, although a bong hit and a few glasses of scotch wouldn't hurt.
TOP 40
Columbia's John Legend continues to celebrate as "All of Me" remains at the top of the chart this week. With a 1000+ spin increase week, RCA’s Justin Timberlake sees “Not a Bad Thing” moves Top 5. Other than that, the Top 10’s winds of change are blowing, and things should get moving by next week. Columbia's "Turn Down for What," by DJ Snake & Lil Jon, also has a 1000+ spin increase week and takes a nice chart jump into the mid-teens. Grand Hustle/Def Jam's Iggy Azalea continues her upward move, with a strong spin increase week for "Fancy." Capitol's Katy Perry is on fire with "Birthday" and is one of this week’s Greatest Gainers. 614/Black Magnetic/Epic's New Hollow takes a nice chart jump and moves to the mid-30s. Also, Epic's KONGOS are looking to chart this week in a BIG way with "Come with Me Now," and the same goes for "Rude" by Latium/RCA’s Magic!.
RHYTHM
We'll have yet another #1 record in Monday; this time it’s RCA's Chris Brown with "Loyal." Other impressive moves are seen at Def Jam, with two records now inside the Top 10: Iggy Azalea’s "Fancy" and Jhene Aiko’s "The Worst." K Camp’s "Money Baby" (Interscope) debuts this week. Also debuting this week is Epic’s Bando Jonez with "Sex You."
ALTERNATIVE
In another super-tight battle for supremacy at Modern Rock, Epic's KONGOS and their big hit "Come with Me Now" look to have a slight edge over Fitz & The Tantrums, but at press time it's still too close to call. In the closing-fast department, The Black Keys’ "Fever" (Warner Bros.) looks to make its run at #1, possibly as soon as next week. RCA's Kings of Leon is on the threshold of going Top 10 with "Wait for Me." Big Data's "Dangerous" (Warner Bros./Crush) moves inside the Top 20. Foster the People's new single on Columbia, "Best Friend," moves quickly inside the Top 30, and labelmate Jack White will have a hot-shot debut with "Lazaretto."
