Buddy! You ready for the VMAs? We hope you’re sticking to a liquid diet before squeezing into that evening ensemble. We know we are. So far, it’s consisted of tequila and a splash of Cointreau and, boy, are we feelin’ great. Anyways, here’s what’s happening at three key Mediabase formats.

TOP 40

Not only does Republic grab four slots in the Most Added column, they do it in historic fashion. #1 Most Added, Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off” (Big Machine/Republic), closes the entire panel within 24 hours, for the first time in Mediabase history. Tove Lo’s “Habits (Stay High),” Kiezsa’s “Hideaway” (both Island/Republic) and Nicki Minaj’s “Anaconda” (YMCMB/Republic) complete the superfecta. Capitol stays on a hot streak, placing two on the list with Katy Perry’s “This Is How We Do” for a second week and Mary Lambert’s “Secrets,” first week out. Epic makes the list for an eighth straight week with Meghan Trainor’s “All About That Bass,” and Def Jam makes a return appearance with Jeremih f/YG’s “Don’t Tell ‘Em.” Warner Bros. has a big first week with Jason Derulo’s “Trumpets,” and Cabin 24/Mom+Pop/RED closes out the action with Ingrid Michaelson’s “Girls Chase Boys.”

RHYTHM

Warner Bros.' Jason Derulo is off to a great start with "Trumpets," as it secures top honors on its impact week. Republic also had a nice week, with double-digit commitments from Nicki Minaj’s "Anaconda," Rich Gang f/Young Thug & Rich Homie Quan’s "Lifestyle," DJ Khaled f/Chris Brown, Future, Jeremih & August Alsina’s "Hold You Down" and The Weeknd’s "Often." Beyoncé’s "Flawless" (Columbia) and Childish Gambino’s "Telegraph Ave" (Glassnote) also had above-par weeks.

ALTERNATIVE

The summer to remember continues for Warner Bros., as they claim #1 Most Added honors for both the Black Keys’ new single, "Gotta Get Away" (Nonesuch/WB) and Death From Above 1979’s buzzing "Trainwreck 1979" (Last Gang/WB). Epic's KONGOS have a fantastic close-out week, going over the 50-station mark with their new single, "I'm Only Joking." RCA gets the ball rolling with Cage the Elephant's latest single, "Cigarette Daydreams." Virgin and Capitol also have a nice day with Bastille's "Flaws," as well as Broods’ "Mother & Father." 4AD continues to gain with Future Islands’ "Seasons," and Matador does the same with Interpol’s "All the Rage Back Home." Meanwhile, Red Bull impresses with Twin Atlantic's "Heart and Soul."
