New Album is Fastest-Selling of the Year, with 121k in Fist Week
Crack out the bubbly for Michael Bublé. The Canadian crooner’s new Reprise album, To Be Loved, debuted at #1 on the U.K. chart, his third to do so, selling an impressive 121,000, the fastest-selling artist album of 2013 to date there. The album comes out in the U.S. tomorrow.

Asylum/Warner Music London drum ‘n’ bass quartet Rudimental scored their second chart-topping single, following last year’s “Feel the Love” with “Waiting All Night” bowing at #1.

The song managed to push the Wizard of Oz cast recording of “Ding! Dong! The Witch Is Dead,” marking the death of former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, from # 2 to # 65.

Bublé’s last album, 2011’s Christmas, has sold 1.8 million copies in the U.K. His last studio release, 2009’s Crazy Love, climbed back 45-27 on the new chart, and is certified eight-times platinum by the BPI.

Fall Out Boy’s Save Rock and Roll (Def Jam/Universal) debuted at #2, the band’s best U.K. album showing to date, ahead of the # 3 peak of 2007’s Infinity High.Their 2008 album, Folie a Deux, peaked at #39.

Emeli Sandé’sOur Version of Events (Virgin EMI/ Universal) climbed #4-3, swapping places with P!nk’s The Truth About Love (RCA/Sony), as Timberlake’s album fell #2-5. Last week’s #1 debut, Paramore’s self-titled fourth album (Atlantic/Warner Music), fell to # 6.

Yeah YeahYeahsMosquito (Polydor/Universal) bowed at #9 as the only other Top 10 album debut.

will.i.am’s“#thatpower,” the Justin Biebercollab featured on this week’s NBA playoff coverage here in the States, debuted at #2 on the U.K. singles chart, while Daft Punk’s new release, “Get Lucky” (Columbia/Sony) featuring Pharrell Williams, which sold 50,000 downloads in just 48 hours on release, came in at #3. Daft Punk’s previous high on the singles cfhart, “One More Time,” reached # 2 in 2000. Finally, Psy’s “Gentleman” (Republic/Universal) soared #61-10 on the basis of record-breaking YouTube views.
