The 23rd edition of Razor & Tie’s cottage industry Kidz Bop Kidz enters at #2, with 75k, the only other newcomer to the Top 10.
UMe’s pleasantly surprising Pitch Perfect soundtrack nestles in at #3, followed by Big Machine’s Taylor Swift (#4, now up to 3.26m) and Republic’s Les Miserables soundtrack (#5, up to 365k).
Dualtone’s surging The Lumineers (#6, +29%), Atlantic’s Bruno Mars (#7), 19/Interscope’s Phillip Phillips (#8, +14%), Glassnote’s multi-Grammy-nominated Mumford & Sons (#9) and Syco/Columbia’s One Direction (#10) round out the sales leaders.
Other Top 50 newcomers include Verve’s Tenors (#20), Matador’s alternative darlings Yo La Tengo (#22), Jesus Culture’s Kim Walker Smith (#24), sensibility music’s The Civil Wars VH1 Unplugged (#35), while Interscope’s Lana Del Rey album Born to Die re-enters at #48.
The Lumineers lead all gainers for the week, followed by RCA’s Alicia Keys (#32-23, +20%), Phillip Phillips (#13-8, +14%),
MCA Nashville’s Gary Allan, Capitol’s Grammy Nominees 2013 and Blue Note’s Aaron Neville top this week’s slate of releases with Island/IDJ’s Justin Bieber acoustic album and Decca’s Andrea Bocelli due on Jan. 29, while Warner Bros.’ Josh Groban hits Feb. 5, just in time for Valentine’s Day.
