“YOU OUGHTA KNOW”
ABOUT THIS SHOW

The Entire Class of 2014 Will Appear on
VH1 You Oughta Know Live in Concert
What do A Great Big World, American Authors, Aloe Blacc, Bleachers, CHVRCHES, Echosmith, Vance Joy, KONGOS, Mary Lambert, Tove Lo and Sam Smith have in common? They’re the artists who were chosen by VH1 for its remarkably successful "You Oughta Know" program this year, and all 11 will perform on VH1 You Oughta Know Live in Concert, set for NYC’s Hammerstein Ballroom on Thursday, Nov. 13 at 9pm ET. And guess what, boys and girls? It’s on TV—VH1, to be specific. The show will be emceed by Nicole Richie, whose series Candidly Nicole was picked up for a second season by VH1 and will return in 2015.

Along with the live performances, the festival-style concert event will include what are billed as "never-before-seen collaborations and covers," as well as VH1 original short film profiles on each of the performers.

"Our ‘You Oughta Know’ franchise has an excellent track record of identifying the best new artists in music before they hit it big," says VH1 prexy Tom Calderone in today’s announcement. "For example, Lorde performed at our first-ever ‘You Oughta Know’ concert last year before she won Song of the Year at the Grammy Awards three months later. Who knows how many future legends we have in this year’s lineup of 11 amazing artists? I’m so incredibly proud that VH1 is presenting what’s sure to be the live concert of the year on television."

During its nine-year existence, the "You Oughta Know" program has helped jumpstart and break the likes of Adele, Mumford & Sons, Gotye, Ed Sheeran and Sia, among other name acts.

By the way, the show’s executive producers include VH1’s Lee Rolontz and newly named SVP of Talent & Music Programming Sandy Alouete.
