What to Expect at Three Key Mediabase Formats

It may be Friday, but it feels like Tuesday. Why? Because we know what next week's key Mediabase charts will look like. Let's travel slightly into the future, and then we'll enjoy a round of Romulan ale.

TOP 40

RCA's Magic! remains in the #1 slot with “Rude,” followed by "Am I Wrong" by Warner Bros.Nico & Vinz and "Stay With Me" by Capitol's Sam Smith. The rest of the Top 10 looks like the shuffling of deck chairs. This week's Greatest Gainer is definitely “Bang Bang,” the smash collab track from Republic's Jessie J + Ariana Grande + Nicki Minaj, and it climbs all the way up to the Top 20. Republic also has two of the other big gainers inside the Top 20 with Ariana Grande f/Zedd’s "Break Free" and Enrigue Iglesias f/Descemer Bueno, Sean Paul & Gente De Zona’s "Bailando." Iggy Azalea f/Rita Ora’s "Black Widow" (Grand Hustle/Def Jam) also has a strong week inside the Top 20. Big increases inside the Top 30 include Epic's Meghan Trainor with "All About That Bass" and Capitol's 5 Seconds of Summer with "Amnesia." Def Jam's Jeremih will debut on the chart this week "Dont Tell 'Em" f/YG.

RHYTHM

RCA is red-hot right now. Team Nipper's got the #1 record, Tinashe f/ScHoolboy Q’s "2 On," and the #2, Kid Ink f/Chris Brown’s "Main Chick." Warner Bros.Nico & Vinz are making a hard push for the top and will come in at #3 this week. Def Jam's Jeremih will once again be one of the Most Increased records, as it moves to #6. Def Jam also has Iggy Azalea f/Rita Ora’s "Black Widow" leaping into the Top 20. Epic's TeeFlii also moves into the Top 20 with "24 Hours," and Lil Jon’s "Bend Ova" will have an increase of over 300 spins. Look for "She Came to Give It to You" by RCA's Usher f/Nicki Minaj to debut this week.

ALTERNATIVE

The chat will have a new #1 on Monday as Big Data's "Dangerous" (Crush Music/Warner Bros.) surges to the top spot. Warner Bros. will have the top two records, as The Black Keys move back to #2 with "Fever." Republic's Weezer arrives in the Top 10 with "Back to the Shack." Meanwhile, Columbia's Hozier is up another 100x with his buzzing "Take Me to Church," which will rise to #16. Epic's KONGOS will make a nice move (#25-21) with "I'm Only Joking." Warner Bros. has another hot one with newcomer Priory's “Weekend,” which makes an impressive #30-22 move. Bastille's new single, "Flaws" (Virgin) zooms #34-27. Meanwhile, Matador’s Interpol will debut on the chart with "All the Rage Back Home."
