Barnett Snags Another Major Player for His Senior Team at the Newco
Michelle Jubelirer has been appointed Executive Vice President for the Capitol Music Group, it was announced today by company Chairman/CEO Steve Barnett, to whom she’ll report. Her responsibilities will include overseeing Astralwerks, Blue Note, Caroline and Harvest, as well as business and legal affairs, A&R admin and release planning.

Jubelirer comes to CMG from entertainment law firm King, Holmes, Paterno & Berliner, where she’s been a partner for nearly five years. Among the diverse roster clients Jubelirer has repped are Frank Ocean, M.I.A., Odd Future, Ke$ha, The Gossip, Swedish House Mafia, Avicii, Marilyn Manson, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Pharrell, Damian Marley, Slipknot, The Neighbourhood, Tommy Lee, Grimes, Tori Amos, Buckcherry and the visual art collective Friends With You.

At the firm, Jubelirer was well versed in the full range of entertainment-related legal representation for her clients, including recording contracts, sponsorships, endorsements, appearances, performances, merch agreements, publishing deals and TV and movie contracts.

She began her career as a mergers and acquisitions attorney at New York’s Simpson Thacher & Barlett in 1999 before joining Sony Music in 2003. Jubelirer moved to L.A. to join King, Holmes, Paterno and Berliner in 2005.
