Kudos to the label’s Daniel Glass, a true believer, who nails his best-selling release to date.

MUM’S THE WORD!!

Green Day, No Doubt, Lupe Fiasco and deadmau5 All Debut in Top 10
This week, it’s all about the Babel.

Mumford & Sons' eagerly anticipated sophomore album on Glassnote proves to be worth the “Wait,” debuting at #1 with a year’s-best 600k, the most since Drake’s Take Care did 630k last November. Kudos to the label’s Daniel Glass, a true believer, who nails his best-selling release to date. What's more, the band’s first album, Sigh No More, moves #29-10, +90% for the week’s biggest gain, adding to its total of 2.5 million and counting.

Reprise’s first of three Green Day albums, Uno, debuts at #2 with 140k, followed by Interscope’s No Doubt, whose Push & Shove is its first new release in over a decade, bowing at #3 with nearly 120k.

Last week’s chart-topper, RCA pop diva P!nk’s The Truth About Love, drops to #4, with Atlantic’s Lupe Fiasco entering at #5 and Ultra electronica icon deadmau5’s >Album Title Goes Here< the other new Top 10 entry at #6.

G.O.O.D./Def Jam/IDJ’s Kanye West compilation Cruel Summer (#7), RCA’s Dave Matthews Band (#8) and Capitol Nashville’s Little Big Town (#9) round out the Top 10.

Other Top 50 new entries are scored by Metal Blade’s As I Lay Dying (#12), RCA Nashville’s Jake Owen (#19), Sony Music Latin’s Gerardo Ortiz (#27), Universal Music Latino’s Alejandro Sanz (#32) and UMe’s Pitch Perfect soundtrack (#42).

Aside from Mumford & Sons’ first album re-igniting at retail, the only other gainers include Dualtone’s The Lumineers (#18-13, +7%) and Fueled by Ramen’s fun. (#21-16, +3%).

Next week’s releases include WB’s Muse, Syco/Columbia’s Jackie Evancho, Verve’s Diana Krall, RCA’s Three Days Grace, Arista Nashville’s Jerrod Niemann and Syco/Epic’s Cher Lloyd and Chris Rene.

Next big title after this week is Broken Bow’s Jason Aldean, like Mumford & Sons, another RED-distribbed title, on Oct. 16. Still to come are big releases from Taylor Swift (10/22) and One Direction (11/13), which will both challenge this week’s monster Mumfords debut.
