LUKE’S HOT HAND DOMINATES AMERICAN COUNTRY AWARDS NIGHT

Singer Picks Up Nine Awards, Including Artist, Album, Single of the Year

If it’s Tuesday, there must be another Country music award ceremony.

Last night’s American Country Awards, hosted by Trace Adkins and Kristin Chenoweth from Las Vegas, were dominated by singer/songwriter Luke Bryan, who picked up nine awards from the show, nationally televised on Fox.

Bryan was named Artist of the Year and also picked up honors for Album of the Year (Tailgates and Tanlines) and Single ("I Don't Want This Night to End”).

The show featured performances from Rascal Flatts, Group of the Year winner Lady Antebellum, Dierks Bentley, Group Music Video of the Year winner Little Big Town, and Bryan himself.

American Idol alum Lauren Alaina picked up the Best New Artist honor, while yet another Idol star, Carrie Underwood set an ACAs record by nabbing two awards last night, including Best Female artist of the year, giving her a total of 11 honors, the most of any artist.
