SIA'S GOT #1 IN THE BAG!

Monkey Puzzle/RCA's Siren Scores Chart-Topping Debut; Sam Sells On, Old Rockers Bow Big

Monkey Puzzle/RCA’s Sia tops the HITS Building Album Sales Chart this week, as her 1000 Forms of Fear sells 52k.

The envelope-pushing artist first earned renown writing hits for Christina Aguilera, Flo Rida, Rihanna and many more. Her last full-length, released in 2010, bowed with a fifth of what she’s brought in this time around. With a cunning marketing plan and a viral video for "Chandelier" (now over 62m views), she’s clearly become a force to be reckoned with—even as her face remains hidden.

Disney’s Frozen ST scores the #2 spot with a little over 47k (+29%, due to its appearance on regular pay channels like HBO and subsequent sales at Google and Amazon). The indefatigable soundtrack has sold more than 3.1m RTD.

Capitol’s Sam Smith, who debuted at #2 three weeks ago, is now #3, down a miniscule 4% with 42k this week—and showing signs of continued strength.

Last week’s #1, Trey Songz, is #4 with 33k (-67%). Ed Sheeran, who topped the chart two weeks ago, slips to #5 with 32k.

Epic’s Judas Priest debuts at #6 this week and grabs just under 31k, giving classic metal a decided boost. Rhino’s Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young 1974 live album popped up in the Top 10 at #7 with over 21k, and pairs well with a vintage reefer. Another debut, from Five Seven Music’s Dirty Heads, lands at #8 with 20k.

RCA Nashville’s Miranda Lambert takes #9 with 20k (-18%) in Platinum’s sixth week. Interscope’s Lana Del Rey (now #11), snags 17k, down a respectable 29%.

Neil Diamond’s greatest hits LP, via Capitol, bowed at #16 on the chart, thanks to a whole latte sales at Starbucks, bringing his final first-week number to 14k.

Streeting at presstime are RCA’s Bleachers, Jason Mraz, Kidz Bop Kids (through Razor & Tie), RCA’s Marsha Ambrosius, Harvest’s Morrissey, DGC’s Rise Against and RCA’s "Weird Al" Yankovic. The subsequent week brings Capitol’s 5 Seconds of Summer, which is looking mighty big—with 140k in preorders, the forecast is currently 200k+.

In other news, we don’t have to make any more soccer jokes for a while. Cheers to that.
