Another debut, from Mercury Nashville siren (and Sugarland singer) Jennifer Nettles, bows impressively with 54k, rounding out the Top 5 and causing Mike Dungan to fire his six-guns in the air with glee.

HIGH ON THE CHART

Springsteen's High Hopes Tops HITS' Album Sales Chart; Kidz Bop, Nettles Bow in Top 5

They’re not booing—they’re chanting BRUUUUUUUCE.

Columbia’s Bruce Springsteen bows at the top of the HITS Album Sales Chart this week with High Hopes, nabbing 102k.The Boss’ 2012 set, Wrecking Ball, debuted with 196k and has moved more than 508k RTD. This is great news for New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who will be handing out copies on the George Washington Bridge.

Disney’s Frozen continues to cast its icy spell, hitting #2 this week with 86k (+2%). The latest Kidz Bop Kids from Razor & Tie bows at #3 with 72k. Columbia mega-diva (and recently announced 2014 Grammy performer) Beyoncé takes #4 with 58k (-25%).

Another debut, from Mercury Nashville siren (and Sugarland singer) Jennifer Nettles, bows impressively with 54k, rounding out the Top 5 and causing Mike Dungan to fire his six-guns in the air with glee.

Also debuting in the Top 20 are Atlantic’s Switchfoot (#6), Blue Note’s Rosanne Cash (#13) and Capitol Nashville’s Jon Pardi (#16).

The week’s greatest gainer is Virgin’s Bastille, which was powered by a digital deluxe edition to surge #23-11 (+76%). Nonesuch’s Inside Llewyn Davis ST (#17) saw a 17% bump. Reliable sellers like Capitol’s Katy Perry (#9) and Republic Nashville’s Florida Georgia Line (#15) were virtually flat in a down market.

Streeting today is Black Magnetic/Epic’s A Great Big World, and a big digital bundle of U.S. albums by The Beatles bows on iTunes. The following week brings some reverent rock from Provident’s Casting Crowns and some very loud rock from Rise’s Of Mice and Men; 2/4 brings Now 49 and Columbia's Broken Bells.

And now, in honor of 49ers receiver Michael Crabtree, we continue to work as hard as we can to be mediocre at best.
