What to Expect at Top 40, Rhythm and Alternative Next Week

Hey, buddy! Time to check out what's comin' from three key Mediabase radio formats.

TOP 40
It seems Capitol's Katy Perry will at #1 for one more week with "Dark Horse" f/Juicy J, but the battle for the next chart-topper is on between "Team" from Lava/Republic’s Lorde and "Happy" from Columbia’s Pharrell Williams, which is also this week’s Greatest Gainer. Columbia also has the #2 Greatest Gainer with John Legend’s "All of Me," which takes a big jump into the Top 10 this week. IDJ has two making solid moves in the Top 20 with "Best Day of My Life" by Mercury's American Authors and Avicii’s "Hey Brother" (PRMD/Island). RCA's Justin Timberlake moves swiftly into the Top 20 after his Most Added week last week with "Not a Bad Thing." The Chainsmokers "#Selfie" (Dim Mak/Republic) has a 1000+ spin week and makes a nice move to the mid-20s. Joining the chart this week will be Island/IDJ's Mariah Carey with "You're Mine (Eternal)" and RCA's Pitbull with “Wild, Wild Love” f/GRL.

RHYTHM
We have a new #1! Columbia's Pharrell Williams takes the spot with "Happy," which is again in the Most Increased column. His label-mate John Legend breaks into the Top 10 with "All of Me," and Beyoncé’s "Partition" has another monster week. Jay Z f/Beyoncé’s "Part II (On the Run)" (Roc-a-Fella/Roc Nation) and Jhene Aiko’s “The Worst” (ARTium/Def Jam/IDJ), have impressive weeks. Dim Mak/Republic’s Chainsmokers are lighting up in celebration as "#Selfie" continues its meteoric rise, and the Young Money collective has the highest debut this week with "Trophies" f/Drake.

ALTERNATIVE
Domino’s Arctic Monkeys stay firmly in control of #1 with "Do I Wanna Know?" Epic's KONGOS continue to grow and are now inches away from # 2 with "Come with Me Now." Phantogram (Barsuk/Republic) looks poised to have a Top 5 record with "Fall in Love." New to the Top 10 will be Virgin's Bastille with their followup hit "Bad Blood." Coldplay's "Magic" quickly enters the Top 15 in its second week. Wild Cub's "Thunder Clatter" (Mom+Pop) looks good to get inside the Top 20. The fast-moving Bleachers (RCA) also looks to get inside the Top 20 after just a few weeks of airplay with "I Wanna Get Better." Warner Bros. will see a strong debut for Linkin Park's latest, "Guilty All the Same." Crush Music's Big Data looks good to debut with "Dangerous."
