Since “the right buyer” didn’t emerge, according to Chairman Phillip F. Anschutz, the parent company will retain ownership.
The fate of AEG Live head Randy Phillips isn’t mentioned, but various reports suggest that he will remain in his post through the upcoming Michael Jackson civil trial but is expected to exit sometime soon thereafter.
Leiweke has been with the company since 1996.
Phillip Anschutz will “resume a more active role” at AEG, the release says, while company veteran Dan Beckerman (who previously served as CFO and COO) will step into the President/CEO role. AEG Europe head Jay Marciano moves from London to L.A. in the reshuffling, stepping into the COO post.
Chief Legal and Development Officer Ted Fikre will become Vice Chairman while continuing in his current role, and take over the firm’s Governmental and Media Relations.
