The Add Action at Top 40, Rhythm and Alternative

Buddy! It’s been way too long. We should really do lunch sometime. No, next week's awful. Anyhoo, check out what’s getting added at three key Mediabase formats. We should chat like this more often.

TOP 40

Capitol comes flying out of the gate with Sam Smith’s “I’m Not the Only One,” capturing #1 Most Added honors on official impact. It was a big week for Team Interscope, with three tracks in the Most Added column, including Maroon 5’s “Animals,” Fergie’s “L.A. Love (La La)” and Kendrick Lamar’s “i.” Columbia snares two slots with Calvin Harris f/John Newman’s “Blame” and One Direction’s “Steal My Girl,” as does Republic with Nick Jonas’ “Jealous” and Nicki Minaj’s “Anaconda.” Warner Bros. closes out the action with two slots, as well, for Jason Derulo’s “Trumpets” and Nico & Vinz’s “In Your Arms.”

RHYTHM

In a highly competitive week, Kendrick Lamar’s "i" (Aftermath/Interscope) just slips past Ariana Grande f/The Weeknd’s "Love Me Harder" (Republic). RCA's Kid Ink ties for second with "Body Language" f/Usher & Tinashe, while Fergie’s "L.A Love (La La)" (Interscope), Big Sean’s "I Don’t Fuck With You (IDFWU)" (Def Jam) and Ne-Yo’s "She Knows" (Capitol) round it all out. Warner Bros.' Jason Derulo has a solid clean-up week with "Trumpets," as does Def Jam's August Alsina with "No Love."

ALTERNATIVE

It’s a dominating day for Lava/Republic, as Lorde's "Yellow Flicker Beat" gets over 50 adds and virtually closes out the panel in 24 hours. It was also a terrific day for Zuma Rock/RAL’s BUSH, as "The Only Way Out" picks up another 10 adds and #2 Most Added honors. Crush Music/Warner Bros. continues to roll with New Politics’ "Everywhere I Go." RCA has a real strong day with Cage the Elephant's "Cigarette Daydreams" and Walk the Moon's "Shut Up and Dance." Banks’ "Beggin' for Thread" (Harvest/Capitol) picks up KITS and WRFF, and Royal Blood's "Figure It Out" (Black Mammoth/Warner Bros.) gets added at KROQ.
