TOP 40
Katy Perry f/Juicy J’s "Dark Horse" (Capitol) is #1 Most Added, with a slew of major markets leading, followed by Beyoncé’s "XO" (Columbia). Lorde's "Team" (Lava/Republic) and Virgin’s Bastille begin to close out while "Say Something" from Black Magnetic/Epic’s A Great Big World starts to capture even the Rhythm-leaning Pop stations. PRMD/Island/IDJ’s Avicii, Warner Bros.’ Jason Derulo, Hollywood’s Demi Lovato and Island/IDJ’s Fall Out Boy round out the Top 10 Most Added.
RHYTHMIC
What a great week for Columbia’s Beyoncé! Not only did she shatter iTunes sales records, but she takes Most Added honors for "Drunk in Love" f/Jay Z, as well as the third-Most Added for "XO." Sandwiched between B’s two tracks was Katy Perry f/Juicy J "Dark Horse" (Capitol), which finally impacts, and is already on the chart and off to the races. Roc Nation/Columbia’s J Cole has a great final add week of the year, securing double-digit commitments, and "Talk Dirty" from Warner Bros.’ Jason Derulo f/2 Chainz takes eight early believers.
ALTERNATIVE
2013 adds ended on a high note as Arcade Fire’s "Afterlife" (Merge) was the Most Added song at Modern Rock this week. Other winners included a strong showing for "Holding on for Life" from Columbia’s Broken Bells. Glassnote looks like they have a Top 10 song with Chvrches’ "The Mother We Share." Island/IDJ has a nice week of adds with "Hell and Back" from The Airborne Toxic Event. RCA’s Kings of Leon and Republic’s Phantogram gain more momentum as we head into 2014.
