Barnett referred to Greer as "a tremendous addition to our already formidable team. Having worked with him at both Columbia and Epic for many years and on such highly successful projects, I am thrilled he is bringing his strong leadership abilities to our New York operations."

A CAPITOL REUNION

Scott Greer Joins Capitol Music Group as EVP and Head of New York Office
Scott Greer has joined Capitol Music Group as New York-based EVP, CMG Chairman/CEO Steve Barnett has announced.

Greer will join fellow CMG EVPs Michelle Jubelirer and Greg Thompson and CFO Geoff Harris in Barnett's executive inner circle and will oversee NYC operations and focus his extensive marketing experience on key CMG artists and projects for the Capitol, Virgin and Motown labels. He'll also work closely with Jubelirer on oversight of Harvest, Blue Note, Astralwerks and indie division Caroline.

An 18-year Sony Music veteran, Greer was most recently SVP Marketing at Columbia, and worked closely with Barnett during the latter's Sony tenure; his career actually began in Capitol's International department in 1991.

At Columbia, Greer oversaw the marketing of such huge releases as Adele's 21, Beyoncé 's sneak-attack set and Daft Punk's Random Access Memories, among many others.

Barnett referred to Greer as "a tremendous addition to our already formidable team. Having worked with him at both Columbia and Epic for many years and on such highly successful projects, I am thrilled he is bringing his strong leadership abilities to our New York operations."

Jubelirer praised the new EVP as "a great out-of-the-box strategist."

For his part, Greer expressed his excitement at "reuniting with Steve, who has been a mentor to me throughout my career, as well as returning to the company where I began my professional life. What Steve and his team have accomplished in such a short span of time is the talk of the industry and the artist community, and CMG's revitalization is still only in its early stages."
