TUESDAY RADIO ADD RECAP

Which Songs Got Added Where, With an Extra Shot of Eggnog

Hey there, buddy! Ready to get your radio on? Let’s take a gander at the add action at three top formats, and then we can play that fun game where you put money on the counter and a nice lady fills our glasses with scotch.

TOP 40
It was a close-out week at Top 40, with seven of the Top 10 Most Added songs having over 100 stations already on them. Black Magnetic/Epic’s A Great Big World With Christina Aguilera’s "Say Something" makes a fourth appearance on the list. Republic has two on the rundown, Lorde’s "Team" (for a fourth week) and John Newman’s "Love Me Again." WB scores two as well with Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ "White Walls" and Passenger’s "Let Her Go," as does IDJ with Avicii’s "Hey Brother" and Fall Out Boy’s "Alone Together." RCA makes it five weeks in a row on Britney Spears’ "Perfume." Bastille’s "Pompeii" (Virgin) and Demi Lovato’s "Neon Nights" (Hollywood) close out the action.

RHYTHMIC
With only one reporting week left, Columbia’s Calvin Harris takes advantage of the lack of releases and nabs nine new stations this week. For the rest it’s basically down to clean up, and SoMo’s "Ride" (Republic), Kid Ink’s "Show Me" (RCA) and Mack Wilds’ "Own It" (Louder Than Life/RAL) did it better than anyone this week. J Cole’s "She Knows" (Roc Nation/Columbia), John Legend’s "All of Me" (Columbia) and Avicii’s "Hey Brother (PRMD/Island/IDJ) also grab a handful of new commitments.

ALTERNATIVE
As the year winds down, we have a few records making some inroads into 2014. "Temple" by Kings of Leon (RCA) and the new single from Republic’s Phantogram, "Fall in Love," show good progress. WRFF adds Of Monsters and Men’s "Dirty Paws" (also Republic). The big winner of week is Arcade Fire’s "Afterlife" (Merge), which brought in heavyweights KROQ, KITS, KNDD and Clear Channel’s Premium Choice.
