Carrie Underwood and Ludacris recently reunited on 5/4 at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena to celebrate the double-platinum certification of their hit collaboration, “The Champion.”
Written by Underwood with Brett James, Chris DeStefano and Christopher Bridges (aka Ludacris), with production by Jim Jonsin, the track was initially used to open NBC’s Super Bowl LII and was used in the network’s coverage of the 2018 Olympic Winter Games.
“The Champion” hit #1 in 10 countries, including the U.S., and was followed up with a Jimmy Lynch-directed video that featured historic moments and footage highlighting professional athletes and everyday champions.
The news arrived on the heels of Underwood’s new year-round SiriusXM channel, Carrie’s Country, which kicks off in June. The eight-time Grammy winner will also relaunch her hit Reflection: The Las Vegas Residency at Resorts World Las Vegas in June. Meanwhile, Ludacris is currently on tour with Janet Jackson.
