Sometimes one listen to one song is all it takes. Such is the case for The Core-repped fledgling singer/songwriter Bailey Zimmerman, whose song “Never Comin’ Home” has prompted a whirlwind label contest.
Emissaries from every Nashville label and more than a few from both coasts are said to have been pursuing the raw-voiced 20-year-old, who’s only been singing for five months. Co-manager Scott Frazier (at 10th Street) discovered the kid on TikTok and passed him along to Core principals Chief Zaruk and Simon Tikhman; the initial plan to develop Zimmerman over a year or so was interrupted by a phalanx of A&R folk waving paperwork.
Where will the young troubadour land? Stay tuned.
