TENILLE TOWNES WINS BIG AT CCMAS
9/28/20

Country star Tenille Townes had quite a successful 2020 Canadian Country Music Awards, winning three awards and tying for the most awarded artist of the night.

Named Female Artist of the Year, Townes also earned Songwriter of the Year and Video of the Year awards for “Jersey on The Wall (I’m Just Asking).” Now an eight-time CCMA winner, Townes performed the award-winning single live from Nashville during the CCMAs.

“It’s an honor to be a part of this Canadian Country Music community and feel this belief. I’ve been watching CCMAs since I was a little kid, and this all feels so wonderful. I’m grateful this music is finding its way to people listening out there,” reflects Townes.

The CCMA wins add to a successful year for Townes, who recently won two awards at the 55th ACM Awards, put out a new rendition of Leonard Cohens’ “Hallelujah” and released The Lemonade Stand on 6/26 via Columbia Nashville and RCA to critical acclaim. Produced by Jay Joyce, Townes has co-writing credits on all 12 tracks. Stream it here.

Additionally, Townes recently raised $89k during her virtual “Big Hearts For Big Kids” fundraiser with all proceeds benefitting Sunrise House and Girl Scouts of Middle Tennessee’s Troop 6000. Townes has raised over $2m since starting the annual fundraiser 11 years ago.
