NEAR TRUTHS: THE ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM
Nervous time in the music biz and beyond. (11/16a)

NOW WHAT?
We have no fucking idea.
COUNTRY'S NEWEST DISRUPTOR
Three chords and some truth you may not be ready for.
AI IS ALREADY EATING YOUR LUNCH
The kids can tell the difference... for now.
WHO'S BUYING THE DRINKS?
That's what we'd like to know.

Valory/BMLG’s Thomas Rhett has earned his 16th career #1 with “Be A Light,” f/Reba McEntire, Hillary Scott, Chris Tomlin and Keith Urban.
Sitting atop the Mediabase/Country Airplay Chart this week, the achievement arrives alongside CMA award noms for Musical Event of The Year and Male Vocalist of the Year.
“I’m completely blown away and humbled by the support of ‘Be A Light’ from the fans, country radio and the entire industry," said Rhett. “When we decided to release this song in March, it was the best way I knew how to share what was on my heart, and I’m feeling so hopeful and encouraged to see so many of you inspired to take action because of it in your own communities.”
In addition to donating all proceeds from the single to the ongoing MusiCares’ COVID-19 Relief efforts, Rhett and BMLG’s President/CEO Scott Borchetta surprised the Recording Academy Chairman and Interim President/CEO Harvey Mason Jr. and MusiCares Executive Director Laura Segura with an additional $100k for the fund.
As the most nominated male artist for this year’s ACMs, including a nom for Entertainer of the Year, Rhett is set to perform his recent chart-topper “Beer Can’t Fix” with Jon Pardi at the 2020 ACM Awards on 9/16 at 8pm ET on CBS.
Rhett will also appear at the iHeartRadio Music Festival, which kicks off on 9/18 on the CW App and CWTV.com as well as air as a two-part special on the CW on 9/27 and 9/28 at 8pm ET.
