SONY/ATV NASHVILLE INKS GABBY BARRETT
5/4/20

Sony/ATV Nashville has inked singer/songwriter Gabby Barrett to a global publishing admin deal. Hot off her platinum-certified and #1 single “I Hope,” which reigns as the #1 streamed country single in the U.S. for three consecutive weeks, the Pennsylvania native is gearing up for the release of her debut album, Goldmine.

“When Gabby sings you can hear her true heart in every single note, and she brings that same passion into the writing room. We are thrilled to welcome her to the Sony/ATV family and support her as she enters this exciting new phase in her career,” says Sony/ATV Nashville CEO Rusty Gaston. Barrett adds, "I’m really excited to be able to continue to grow as a writer. This is definitely a special team, and I’m grateful for their belief in me and my music."

Beginning her musical journey as part of a gospel choir at just 9 years old, Barrett has since become a Top 3 finalist on ABC’s American Idol, opened for the likes of Dierks Bentley, Kane Brown, Luke Bryan, Jake Owen, Bebe Rexha and Carrie Underwood, among others, and is an ACM New Female Artist of the Year nominee. She’s has also been named one of SiriusXM’s Future Five for 2020, one of CMT’s 2020 Next Women of Country, a 2020 MusicRow Next Big Thing artist, Radio Disney’s Next Big Thing, an Amazon Music 2020 Artist to Watch, plus more.

Barrett’s recently announced Goldmine will be available on 6/19 and includes previously released singles “The Good Ones,” “Hall of Fame” and “I Hope,” plus collaborations including “I Hope” f/Charlie Puth and “Got Me” f/Shane & Shane. Produced by Sony/ATV’s Ross Copperman and Zach Kale, Barrett holds songwriting credits on 12 of the 13 tracks on the project.
