The Academy of Country Music is taking its awards show to Nashville for the very first time. The 55th ACM Awards will take place 9/16 at three of Music City’s legendary venues.
The dick clark productions-produced show will take place at the Grand Ole Opry, Ryman Auditorium and The Bluebird Cafe. Reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year Keith Urban will be the host.
“First and foremost, we want to ensure the safety of our artists and industry, and to ease the burdens of traveling large teams; therefore, we decided to bring the ACM Awards to them this September in Nashville,” ACM CEO Damon Whiteside said. “Now, more than ever, is the time to bring our community together to honor the best in our genre, and there is no more special place to do that than three of the most revered venues in Country Music.”
All health and safety guidelines set forth by national, state and local health officials will continue to be closely followed and implemented during the production along with additional safety measures to be instated by dick clark productions and the Academy of Country Music.
Originally scheduled for 4/5, the awards show was replaced by the ACM Lifting Lives program to assist individuals working in the country music industry. Since 4/1, the fund has contributed $1.4m to individuals in need due to the effects of COVID-19.
