A STAR-STUDDED WRITING RETREAT
3/5/20

Former Warner Chappell execs Katie Vinten and Alicia Pruitt recently joined forces on a multi-day songwriting camp in Nashville. 18 songwriters from Nashville and L.A. gathered at Oceanway Studios for collaborative writing sessions.

Songwriters who attended include Aron Wright (Panic! At the Disco), Audra Mae (Miranda Lambert, Kelly Clarkson), Brock Berryhill (Kane Brown, Brantley Gilbert), Emily Weisband (Sam Hunt, Camila Cabello), Jesse Frasure (FGL, Rascal Flatts, Brown), Justin Tranter (Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber, Imagine Dragons), Sarah Buxton (Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum), Zach Skelton (Jonas Brothers, Shawn Mendes, Paul McCartney) and more.

Sponsored events like bowling night, a pizza and trivia night and more were held in conjunction with the camp throughout the week. The camp officially concluded with an intimate “Writers Round” event at the Listening Room, picured above, where songwriters came together to perform new songs they collaborated on during the week as well as previously written songs.

“I am so thrilled to be a part of this amazing songwriting event,” said Vinten, who is the co-founder of Facet and founder of Black Diamond Management. “I can only hope that these writing sessions converge into lessons, that spawn some friendships and dialogue, which evolves into art.

Pruitt, who founded Madfun Entertainment, adds, “This retreat is meant to bring creators and communities together for lasting relationships, just like the friendship she and I have built over the years. Both Katie and I would also love to thank Oceanway Studios, BMI, ASCAP, Warner Chappell, Warner Records, Big Machine Records, Sony Records and Universal Records for helping sponsor this camp and making it so special for the songwriters.”
