CAA BRINGS BACK THE HUBB
9/10/19

Creative Artists Agency hosted its second annual networking and professional development summit, THE HUBB, on 9/8 and 9/9 at their Nashville Offices, providing diverse internship- and career-ready college students with tools and resources needed to successfully enter the music business.

The application-only event included workshops and opportunities for 30 students across 26 universities including Berklee College of Music, Carnegie Mellon University, Cornell University, Purdue University, Spelman College, UC Berkeley, UCLA, University of Georgia, Villanova University and more.

THE HUBB participants had the chance to learn from and meet industry leaders like the CEO of Universal Music Group Nashville Mike Dungan, EVP of UMG Radio Promotion Royce Risser, CAA Nashville Co-Founder John Huie, CEO of Tri-Star Entertainment Lou Taylor, IEBA Executive Director Pam Matthews, various CAA Agents Sabrina Butera, Katie Germano, Lindsey Myers, Joe Harris, and Meredith Jones, and BarbaraMotherHubbard, for whom the event is named after, among others.

In addition to meeting executives that represent a variety of sectors within the industry, The HUBB 2020 Summer Internship Scholarship Program was announced in partnership with IEBA, awarding $2k to three qualified students to provide financial assistance to undergraduate students with internships in the music industry.

“At CAA, we have always believed that growing and developing the next generation of diverse leaders can only positively impact all workplaces,” says Rob Light, Managing Partner and Head of CAA Music. “We’re proud of the amazing doors THE HUBB conference has helped open for students in order to be successful in the music industry and beyond.”

Delta Air Lines was the Official Airline Partner for the event, with IEBA, Tristar Sports & Entertainment Group, UMG and Prescription Songs serving as Premiere and Supporting Partners, respectively.
