Warner Nashville's Dan + Shay announced on stage Thursday night in Omaha that they would donate proceeds from their merch sales (from that evening's show) to the American Red Cross to benefit those ravaged by the spring flooding in the Midwest.
“At the show, it was spontaneous," Dan Smyers said. "We met some of the people that have been affected and are hurting from this massive disaster, and we knew that we needed to give back. Just before the end of the show, we announced it from the stage. We’re thrilled to play a small part in helping rebuild the community."
The Grammy award-winning duo will begin the second leg of their sold-out headlining run next weekend in Madison, Wisc. The run will continue through April, and they will join Florida Georgia Line on the Can't Say I Ain't Country Tour in June.
Adding to the post-Grammy night momentum—which included a stunning performance and win for "Tequila"—Dan + Shay enter the spring season with six nominations for the 54th ACM Awards, tied for the most nominations overall. Their noms include Duo of the Year, Album of the Year, Single, Song, Video and Music Event of the Year.
