BMG has inked a label deal with producer Michael Knox, best known for having discovered Jason Aldean and produced all of his albums. The new imprint, Music Knox Records, will enable the veteran record-maker (who's also worked with Thomas Rhett, Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert and Eric Church, among others, and has some 21 #1 Country hits under his belt) to sign, develop and market new talent.
Seen celebrating the pact just before attorney Jess Rosen played a cheerful song on his diamond-encrusted kazoo are (l-r) BBR Music Group EVP Jon Loba, BMG U.S. Prexy Repertoire & Marketing Zach Katz, Knox, Greenberg Traurig's Rosen and BBR VP A&R Sara Knabe.
Said Knox, “I know this sounds cliché, but it’s a dream come true for me. I’m excited to work with Zach, Jon and the entire BMG family."
“Michael’s work speaks for itself," proclaimed Katz, who described Knox as "one of the most successful and in-demand producers in Country music."
"I’ve known and worked with Michael since the early days of BBR," noted Loba. "He is one of the best song executives in this town and has always had a burning desire to find and develop diamonds in the rough before they move to the 615. We are so thrilled to partner with him in that endeavor."
