MCENTIRE HONORED WITH HORATIO ALGER AWARD
12/12/17

Non-profit educational org The Horatio Alger Association has selected Country icon Reba McEntire, who's up for the 2018 Best Roots Gospel Album Grammy (with Sing It Now: Songs of Faith and Hope) as one of the 12 recipients of the 2018 Horatio Alger Award. The award recognizes leaders with a commitment to philanthropy and education.

Horatio Alger Award recipients fund the Association's scholarship programs, which provide education opportunities to promising students who, like the recipients, have faced adversity in their lives.

Honoring the Rockin’ R/BMLG songstress' professional achievements, which definitely don't include this disgraceful HITS mention, as well as the perseverance she's displayed throughout her life, McEntire will join an elite group of just over 200 past recipients.
