CLIENTS INCLUDE: Maren Morris

BENCHMARKS OF THE PAST YEAR: Maren’s “My Church” set a record at Country radio by having the most chart reporting stations to add a debut single by a country artist, with 107 adds. Maren’s debut album, HERO, was released a year ago this month, which is also when she started her first tour supporting Keith Urban on his North American world tour. One week after release, HERO entered the Country Albums chart at #1 and #5 on the overall chart. “My Church” is now certified platinum, and HERO is certified gold. Maren won her first CMA Award for New Artist of the Year and her ACM Award for Best New Female. Maren received more Grammy nominations than any country artist and won for Best Country Solo Performance. Her TV performances were huge, especially Saturday Night Live. Maren is spending the summer as direct support for Sam Hunt.

WHAT HAS BEEN THE MOST SIGNIFICANT CHANGE IN THE LANDSCAPE OF THE NASHVILLE MUSIC BIZ, AND HOW ARE YOU ADJUSTING TO IT?
The most impactful change that I’ve seen is the consolidation and influence of radio and playlists. They both have such an important role; however, with playlists, artists can get their music heard before a single is shipped to radio. We originally self-released “My Church” and an EP on Spotify before signing with Sony. The songs reacted on Spotify in a big way, which was the perfect set-up to get our plans in motion.
