CBS Radio has made Tim Roberts the chief liaison to the country music community, elevating the Detroit programmer to Vice President of Country Programming.
In his new role, Roberts will provide programming guidance and expertise to the division’s 12 country stations and work with the CBS Radio Music Initiatives team to deliver live events and experiences. He is now the top dog dealing with Nashville’s artists, labels and management teams.
“When you are blessed to have a Hall of Famer on the roster as we do in Tim, it is a no brainer to expand his reach and influence beyond Detroit,” said Chris Oliviero, Executive Vice President, Programming, CBS Radio.
Roberts will continue in his role as Vice President of Music Programming for CBS Radio stations in Detroit: Country station WYCD, classic hits WOMC and Top 40 WDZH.
A Detroit native he joined CBS Radio Detroit in 2006 as Program Director and Operations Manager of WYCD after serving as a program director and/or operations manager for stations throughout the Midwest and West. He was inducted into the Country Radio Hall of Fame in 2016.
