RCA Nashville's Jake Owen was recently honored by Golf Digest with an Arnie Award at the magazine's Golfers Who Give Back event, during the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, alongside Peyton Manning and golfer Phil Mickelson.

“I don’t do things for awards, but this is by far the most humbling thing I could ever achieve,” said Owen after being called to the stage by high-profile sports broadcaster Jim Nantz.

Owen has played in the Pro-Am for the past five years and will do so again this time around. Practice rounds begin today.

Not to worry, though. When asked what he prefers (golf or music) he shared, "I feel like I've been able to touch more people with a guitar and a song than I would have with a putter or a driver.”

Speaking of music, Owen's current single, "If He Ain't Gonna Love You"—the follow-up to his sixth #1 single, "American Country Love Song"—just charted at Country radio, where it currently sits at #36.

Last night was literally one of the greatest moments in my life. I was awarded "The Arnie Award"... I also received this amazing honor last night with two people I've always admired and looked up to...Phil Mickelson and Peyton Manning. The award is not only near and dear to my heart because of the great Arnold Palmer, (who is probably the most respected athlete in history) but also because it's given to golfers that "give back." My work with my foundation "The Jake Owen Foundation," has been one of the most fulfilling things I have ever been involved with. To me, life isn't about awards. It's not about money. At the end of this beautiful life, none of that matters. What matters is, the kind of person you are. Your character. Your legacy. What have YOU done for others?Arnold Palmer left a lasting legacy and I couldn't be more proud to have my name in the same sentence as his. I'm forever humbled.
