YOUR RADIO ADD RECAPS

There’s a tie atop the add board this week as AWAL’s Dave Lombardi has Royel Otis’ “Murder on the Dance Floor” (Royel Otis/Triple J/ABC) sitting in the #1 spot alongside Big Loud Rock’s Dave Barbis with Letdown.’s new single, “Hate Myself.” AWAL also scored big this week with Djo’s “End of Beginning,” while ICLG’s Robbie Lloyd impressed with a strong add week on Good Neighbours’ “Home” (Neon Gold/Avenue A).

In another tight race for next week’s new #1, I look for RCA’s Gary Gorman to take the top spot with Cage the Elephant’s “Neon Pill.” Gary also scores a Top 10 hit with Foo Fighters’ “The Glass” (Roswell/RCA). AWAL’s Dave Lombardi surges in the Top 20 with Royel Otis’ “Murder on the Dance Floor” as Dirty Hit’s Bleachers quickly enters the Top 20 with “Tiny Moves.” Also approaching the Top 20 and looking to break wide open are Warner’s Michael Marcagi with “Scared to Start” and AWAL’s Djo with “End of Beginning.” ICLG’s Robbie Lloyd scores a couple of strong debuts this week with Good Neighbours’ “Home” (Capitol) and Catfish and the Bottlemen’s “Showtime.” Also securing a chart debut is Cletus the Van’s Judah & the Lion with “Long Dark Night.”

SUM 41 GOES #1
3/1/24

Many congrats to BMG’s Nick Attaway for guiding Sum 41’s “Landmines” to #1 next week at Alternative radio. This is a significant achievement as it marks the band’s second #1 and their first chart-topper in 22 years. It’s also the longest stretch between #1 hits in the Alternative format’s history. The previous record belonged to The Killers, who had a 13-year gap between #1s.

Warner’s Rob Goldklang has a banner day as he closes out the format on Linkin Park’s “Friendly Fire” during its first week and takes Most Added honors. Kings of Leon also pretty much close out the Alt panel with their new single, “Mustang” (Capitol/Interscope), while Columbia’s Lisa Sonkin enjoys a nice week with Vampire Weekend’s “Capricorn.” Other winners include Cletus the VAN’s Judah & the Lion with “Long Dark Night,” Warner’s Michael Marcagi with “Scared to Start” and Capitol’s Catfish and the Bottlemen with “Showtime.”
