THE BALL STREET JOURNAL

As I look at the building chart for Monday, 9/13, I see Columbia’s Lil Nas X & Jack Harlow sitting in the #1 position with “INDUSTRY BABY.” I must admit, when he burst on the scene a few years ago with “Old Town Road,” I would have bet a lot of money that his 15 minutes of fame was going to be short lived. Boy was I wrong! A big congrats to John Strazza, James White and the entire Columbia staff for shutting me up and making him an A List artist! They also continue to grow the Kid LAROI & Justin Bieber hit “Stay.” It was up 340 spins and continues to pick up new believers on the board each week. Baby Keem & Kendrick Lamar saw an increase of 235 spins on “family ties” (pjLang), but just misses a debut and lands at #43. Make sure you check out Chlöe’s “Have Mercy” this week. The video was tending at #1 on Youtube and has a solid buzz behind it.

Davey Dee and Garrett Ream at Republic have officially launched Drake’s “Way 2 Sexy” f/Future & Young Thug (OVO/300 Ent/Epic-Rep). With an impressive 910-spin boost, it debuts at #28 on the chart and is already inside the Top 25 on the building chart. They also welcome Pop Smoke’s “Woo Baby” f/Chris Brown (Victor Victor) inside the Top 10 with a 310-spin jump. The Weeknd’s “Take My Breath” (XO) climbs up into the Top 15, gaining 190 spins, while Lil Tecca’s “REPEAT IT” f/Gunna lands at #30 with an increase of 120 spins.

Over at RCA, Lori G and Inca see WizKid’s “Essence” f/Tems rocket to #5. He’s up an impressive 820 spins and looks to reach #1 in the next few weeks. Normani’s “Wild Side” f/Cardi B (Keep Cool) moves up one spot to #19, while Doja Cat’s “Need to Know” (Kemosabe) slides up 7 positions to #23, thanks to a 670-rotation boost.

Warner’s B Dot Scales has Wale’s “Angles” f/Chris Brown coming in at #6 this week with an increase of 220 spins. They’re aiming for the Top 5 on this one next. Smiley’s “Over the Top” f/Drake (OVO) lands at #27 and debuting on the chart at #39 is Isaiah Rashad’s “From the Garden” f/Lil Uzi Vert.

Interscope’s Nino Cuccinello takes Moneybagg Yo’s “Wockesha” inside the Top 15 as it gains another 340 spins and shows no signs of slowing down. BAS’ “The Jackie” f/J. Cole & Lil Tjay arrives at #34 this week. Swae Lee’s “In the Dark” f/Jhené Aiko (MARVEL/Hollywood) debuts at #36 with a 200-spin increase and Morray’s “Trenches” comes in at #40 on the chart.
