THE BALL STREET JOURNAL

On Sunday night, I watched the Adele special to hear what she’s been up to over the last six years as well as some new music. Even on TV, she has the voice of an angel and sounds so down to earth and grounded. She’s someone you can’t help but root for and hope continues to be a superstar.

Holding down the #1 spot for another week is RCA’s Doja Cat with “Need to Know” (Kemosabe). Lori G and Incaalso see Latto’s “Big Energy” ascend #16-12, gaining 285 spins. Normani’s “Wild Side” f/Cardi B (Keep Cool) seems to have a big story. It left the format about a month ago, but based on research and the growth at Urban, it's back and thriving. It enjoyed a 385-spin increase and is going back into rotation at several stations. They’re also impacting H.E.R.’s “Find a Way” f/Lil Durk & Lil Baby this week.

Republic’s Davey Dee and Garrett Ream have Drake’s “Girls Want Girls” f/Lil Baby (OVO) sitting atop the building chart. Up 715 spins, it’s poised to take over #1 this week. The label is also impacting Drake’s “Knife Talk” with 21 Savage f/Project Pat this week, which has solid streaming numbers. Post Malone & The Weeknd’s “One Right Now” is off to a tremendous start and gains 1240 spins, rocketing #40-21.

Def Jam’s Noah Sheer welcomes Kanye West’s “Hurricane” f/The Weeknd & Lil Baby inside the Top 10 with an increase north of 175 spins. Kendra Jai’s “Seesaw” f/Saweetie is up 75 spins and holds at #24. YG’s “Sign Language” picks up 160 more spins but just misses a debut, landing at #45. They’re officially impacting Big Sean &Hit-Boy’s “Loyal to a Fault” f/Bryson Tiller & Lil Durk (G.O.O.D.) this week and it’s already #58 with a triple digit increase.

Baby Keem & Kendrick Lamar’s “family ties” (pgLang) moves up to #19 after a 50-spin boost. Lil Nas X also enjoys a triple digit increase with “THAT’S WHAT I WANT” and enters the Top 25.

Capitol’s Dixie Tipton likewise has her sights set on getting Capella Grey’s “GYALIS” inside the Top 5. It’s currently up 300 spins and has three records ahead that are coming down. Ne-Yo’s “What If” (Motown) debuts this week at #38 and with a 75-spin jump.

Over at Warner, B Dot Scales sees Wale’s “Poke it Out” f/J. Cole & Cool & Dre climbing to #11 thanks to a 350-rotation increase. Majid Jordan’s “Stars Align” f/Drake comes in at #33 after gaining 170 spins and Anitta’s “Faking Love” f/Saweetie slides up three spots to #35.

Interscope’s Nino Cuccinello has Summer Walker’s “Ex for a Reason” w/JT from City Girls (LVRN) motoring up the chart. She’s perched at #23 following a spin boost of 380. Nino is also impacting Moneybagg Yo’s “Scorpio” this week. It’s already #51 and is sure to debut this coming week.

Epic’s Rick Sackheim and Dontay Thompson continue to drive GIVĒON’s “For Tonight” (Not So Fast). It’s currently #18 after a 145-spin gain. BIA’s “BESITO” f/G Herbo comes in at #34 and they’re also setting up Rick Ross’ “Outlawz” f/Jazmin Sullivan & 21 Savage, which impacts in the next few weeks.
