THE BALLSTREET JOURNAL

With the charts being a little wonky due to a long 4th of July weekend, plus extended mix shows and throwback mixes, I am using the three-day building chart to write my column this week.

With Tommy Richman’s “MILLION DOLLAR BABY” (ISO Supremacy) still holding strong at #1, Angelo Scrobe and the PULSE/Concord team now set their sights on breaking Jeremih’s “Wait on It” f/Bryson Tiller & Chris Brown. The track debuted this week and is already positioned in the #32 spot on the chart.

Over at RCA, Lori G and staff are making a final push to take Bryson Tiller’s “Whatever She Wants” (TrapSoul) to #1. As I write this, he is about 500 spins behind, but Tommy and Kendrick Lamar are both falling ahead of it. As of now, this will be too close to call. Lori also has Victoria Monét’s “Alright” (Lovett Music) at #30 and just getting started.

Dixie Tipton and the ICLG squad have a full slate of music right now. Eminem’s “Houdini” (Shady/Aftermath/Interscope) moves 8-6* on the chart, and their next goal is to hit the Top 5. GloRilla & Megan Thee Stallion’s “Wanna Be” is sitting at #13 and has its sights set on the Top 10. Camila Cabello’s “HOT UPTOWN” f/Drake(Geffen/Interscope) is off to a great start; she’s up over 250 spins and is at #26. Dixie also just impacted JT’s “OKAY” (QC/Motown) this week, which is already on the chart at #39 and approaching Top 10 at Urban as well. And Offset’s“Style Rare” w/Gunna (Motown) will debut this week as it’s already at #40 on the building chart.

Nick P and the Arista squad have done a very good job taking Skylar Blatt’s “Wake Up” f/Chris Brown to the Top 10. Up 100 spins, there are still a few records in front of it so the job is not done yet!

B Dot Scales and Warner have Saweetie’s “NANi” (ICY) at #11; she’s up triple digits and could enter the Top 10 by the week’s end. Meanwhile, NLE Choppa’s “SLUT ME OUT 2” is at #31 and continues to pick up new stations each week.

Sackheim and Dontay at Epic have Tyla’s “Jump” (FAX) at #16. They also see BIA x JID’s “Lights Out” enter the Top 20 at #19 and 21 Savage x Summer Walker’s “prove it” move up to #20.

James White and Columbia see Central Cee & Lil Baby’s “BAND4BAND” join the Top 15 and enjoy an increase of more than 175 spins this week. The Kid LAROI’s “GIRLS” is being added by a number of the more pop-leaning stations and is currently at #48. Look for this one to debut this coming week.

And over at Republic, Davey continues to build Ariana Grande’s “the boy is mine.” The track is up 285 spins on the week and is perched at #23.

Most Increased:
Camila Cabello’s “HOT UPTOWN” f/Drake (Geffen/ICLG)
Ariana Grande’s “the boy is mine” (Republic)
Jeremih’s “Wait on It” f/Bryson Tiller & Chris Brown (PULSE/Concord)
Central Cee & Lil Baby “BAND4BAND” (ICLG-Columbia)
Eminem “Houdini” (Shady/Aftermath/Interscope/ICLG)

The Kid LAROI’s “GIRLS” (Columbia)
JT’s “OKAY” (QC/Motown/ICLG)
