THE BALL STREET JOURNAL

It was a unique Fourth of July holiday this year as the industry had both Monday and Tuesday off. And with that, there were a number of stations that did three and four-day Throw Back mix shows that really disrupted the chart this week. While it hasn’t completely bounced back, we can see what records still have momentum going and the ones that won’t be able to dig themselves out of the hole.

RCA’s Lori G and Inca are enjoying another week at the top of the chart with SZA’s “Snooze” (TDE). It looks as though this will be a staple as a power track for the next month at the very least. Meanwhile, Latto’s “Put It on Da Floor” climbs up inside the Top 10 and it gains 360 spins as one of the most increased tracks this week. Chris Brown’s “Summer Too Hot” (Chris Brown Ent.) sees an increase of 670 spins, and that puts him just outside the Top 20 at #21. Look for this to be inside the Top 15 in a week or so! Doja Cat’s “Attention” (Kemosabe) slides up one position to #22 and enjoys a 235-spin boost.

Over at Epic, Sackheim and Dontay have DDG’s “I’m Geekin” perched at #32. With an increase of 90 spins, the streams on this also continue to improve each and every week. They also have Tyla Yaweh’s new track “Summer Vibes,” which they will be impacting on 7/17.

Strazz and James White at Columbia see Tyler, The Creator’s “DOGTOOTH” coming in at #12. They have a goal to hit the Top 10 by next week with this track, which is Tyler’s highest charting single at Rhythm radio by far. Meanwhile, ICandy’s “Keep Dat” jumps up 110 spins this week and holds at #19 as the streams continue to grow. Baby Keem & Kendrick Lamar’s “The Hillbillies” (TDE) is also up triple digits and comes in at #31 on the chart.

Dixie and Capitol see a window to #1 with Ice Spice & Nicki Minaj’s “Princess Diana” (10K Projects/Republic). This currently sits at #4 and is up 280 spins as of now. It won’t be easy, but the three records ahead of it are all trending down, and there isn’t a track directly behind it to threaten its chance for at least a few weeks. Minaj & Ice Spice also have their other collaboration “Barbie World” f/Aqua (Atlantic-Republic), which is featured on the Barbiesoundtrack, rocketing inside the Top 25 after a few short weeks of airplay. It gains 575 spins and shows no signs of slowing down.

Over at Interscope, Nino Cuccinello has DaBaby’s “SHAKE SUMN” landing at #23 this week after picking up 115 more spins. He also has a double debut as GloRilla’s “Lick or Sum” (CMG) scores a triple digit increase of 160 spins and lands at #37, while Byron Messia’s “Talibans” tacks another 190 spins to his total and ends the week at #40.

Davey and the Republic team continue to drive Post Malone’s “Mourning” (Mercury) towards the Top 10. It holds at #13 this week after scoring 50 more spins. Coi Leray’s “Bops” (Uptown) spends another week at #15 and enjoys an increase of 70 spins. The Weeknd's “Popular” f/Playboi Carti & Madonna (XO) sees another triple digit increase and holds at #16 this week, while Metro Boomin x NAV x A Boogie Wit da Hoodie’s “Calling” f/Swae Lee enters the Top 25 thanks to a 350-spin injection. The buzz on this one is still quite strong.
